5 out of 5 stars Great cable   June 28, 2010

This cable connects the Monitor out on my Pioneer VSX-1020-K to my LG 42LH90 TV. It carries full 1080p from a PS3 as well as 1920x1080 resolution from a PC, and a 1080i signal from my cable box. It also carries 1920x1080p from a macbook pro and a flip mini.

I bet those reviews about problems with it carrying a full 1080p signal are related either to source content, improper setup or they are made by Monster employees.

Great cable!

5 out of 5 stars Here's What I've Learned About HDMI Cables   May 31, 2010

For your HDTV or HD projector and screen, by all means pay for high quality. You'll get performance that you can see. When it comes to the HDMI cable, buy the shortest cable that will span the distance, and pay the lowest price for it that you can find. The advantage of a digital signal is that the bits either make it, or they do not. What you will get for your money is a 28 gauge HDMI cable with 19 pin connectors on either end, that will do the same job, at 1/5 to 1/10 the cost of what the same cable costs in a retail store. Next, allow me to warn you about cables in excess of 25 feet in length. I did experience obvious dropouts of signal between my receiver and projector at 30 feet with a 28 gauge HDMI cable. I remeasured and found that 25 feet would do. I bought this cable, and replaced the 30 ft one - problem solved. Had I not been able to reach with 25 ft, I would have upgraded to a 22 gauge cable, which I have heard will do a little better for distance. Now, if I was burying a cable in a wall permanently, I would seek out a cable certified for level 2 performance from an established on line vendor. This would tell you that the cable was tested for a higher level of performance. Not that the cheaper cables could not meet that same spec - they're just not tested to do so. I would also consider 22 gauge if I was near 25 ft in length. The particular cable purchased here is a fine product, and I recommend it. Mine does not have ferrite's at either end, which are intended to help in the unusual circumstance that you have a local source of RF interference. Those ferrites also get in the way when you are trying to pull the cables through tight spaces.

What a great value, why would you go to the box stores and pay 5 times as much? Quality construction and passes signal with no visible loss. I recommend it!

this cable would not work with my blu-ray player. It did work fine with my cable box but I had to get a more expensive cable for the blu-ray player.
