Panasonic Blu-Ray Home Theater June 7, 2010 RoyB (Salem, Oregon) Adds a whole new dimension to watching TV. Sound is crisp, clear, & superb quality unit. System is very easy to install and the wireless speakers are a real plus!
The worst customer service ever January 11, 2010 David from Boston (Boston) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought a SC-BT100. I have been very happy with the unit until the HDMI port broke and it had to be sent in for repair.
I sent it in and was told two weeks. I called 3 weeks later to inquire as to the status and they said they couldn't find the unit and starting asking me all these questions, where I bought it, model #. Finally after 45 minutes it was located and they said I should have it in 7-10 days.
Three weeks later I called back and they couldn't find it again, 1/2 hour later they located the unit and said they didn't know when I would have it back. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they said they would call the repair center the next day, inquire about the unit and call me back.
A week later, no call back. So I called again to find out the status. Guess what, they can't find it and I'm on hold.
I have to say that it will be a cold day in H3ll before I buy another Panasonic product. The customer service is appalling. I have never been so frustrated before in my entire life.
PANASONIC S@CKS!
Yes, I'm angry.
And the voice mail system is horrible, the voice recognition system doesnt understand simple words like "NO" and when I said "Repairs" it routed me to a local repair center. It took me three calls to talk to a person.
Great product, great price December 23, 2009 Ronnie B. Littler Just as described. Works great and really brings the surround sound needed for the theatrical products you can bring right to the home.
Awesome October 15, 2009 Andrew Y. Merrill (High Point, NC USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this system. The BluRay Player is amazing and the sound is so crisp. We upgraded to this from just our TV speakers so obviously it was an enormous difference.
There are a few little quarky things about it though. I also don't like that I have to use THREE remotes now, Cable, Volume, TV (to change the input).
The Ipod dock is a little quarky too, sometimes it recognizes the IPOD is there and sometimes it doesn't so I have to take it off the dock turn it on and put it back and then the system will recognize it.
It was super easy to hook up though, all I needed was 2 HDMI chords, and 1 Digital Optical chord. It was about $80 for all three.
But all of my DVDs look and sound better, my cable looks and sounds better, and I now have a home theater for my Ipod to play over which is AWESOME.
Overall I am very happy with this system, I bought a refurbished one for about $375, and I feel like I got a Hell of a Deal.
Hope this helps,
Great bang for the buck September 5, 2009 Tabitha R. Dente This product delivers everything it said it would and for the price you can't beat the performance, sound, and ease of setup. A few quirks have been found in the 8 months I have used mine. The volume will go all the way up or down on occasion. You need to power the unit down for a minute or two then restart it. Also, I tried to do a firmware update per the mfr instructions but it didn't work. If you have a Harmony remote, you can't place a D-In button on it easily. If you own the Harmony, you'll find out what a pain that is. But these are all minor issues for the price point. I would have spent over 2K for the separate componants. Sure the sound and inputs would have been better, but for a budget, this system rocks.
